The Patriot Act is the most discriminating law passed by Congress I have ever witnessed. I can not believe how our government can illegally tap in on people’s conversations and view their personal files on their computer without their consent. It is a violation of the 4th Amendment. How can we rely on our government and think that everything that has occurred has been lawful and justice? So many immigrants have fled, or have been kicked out of the United States after 9/11. Those that have fled left because the hysteria of terrorists has affected their lives. They were not able to get jobs, or walk in the streets without people accusing them of terrorism. Those that were kicked out of the country, the reasons were bias and discriminatory. Our government has accused so many Middle Easterners of being a terrorist, and when they were interrogated, they were not even allowed to have a lawyer present. That is against the Constitution that is our foundation for this country to remain a Democracy.

Why doesn’t News Corporation such as Fox, or NBC show images of civilians being killed in Iraq? It’s because they desensitize the American people, and that’s why more people are enlisting in the war. We don’t see the images other news corporations from the Middle East show, which are innocent people being killed. Our media mainstream is bias, and it’s misleading the people into thinking we are making a difference over there. We have this false sense of reality that everything is perfect, and our government and soldiers are glorified. When the reality is we are in a predicament, a hole and we have dug ourselves so deep we can’t get out. So why should Fox show us real images that shock us, making us pity those who are at war with us. Because we are all living in a society where we feel we are number 1 and our values and ideals should be instilled unto everyone in this world, and if they don’t want to follow us, well then, line up the youth, and we can sacrifice their lives for a result that will never be surfaced at the hands of Bush.

I thought Bush using religion as one of his supportive ideas for reelection was ridiculous. He exploited himself, and used his ideas as if he is a saint. Yet, so many Americans bought it and voted for him because of religious views. If he was such a religious man, when do they ever show him attending church, or praying, or carrying around a Bible? All I ever see him doing is shooting animals at his ranch, or speaking nonsense, and always trying to beat around the bush when enlightened with current events. Also, if he was such a religious person, why doesn’t he stop this war, and try to make peace? I don’t see him trying to convert Muslims, or trying to give back. He clearly used religion as a default.

I don’t understand Republicans. I am really dumbfounded by them. I try to relate and understand their views when I watch Fox, or other bias news channels, but I just can’t seem to agree with them. I am 20 years old, and I feel I have surfaced so much negative information about the party, and I am still curious as to why so many still are right winged. I asked my friend’s mother the other day why she decided to vote for Bush a second round. Here was her response: “Kerry’s wife is ugly, and I could not let our First Lady to look like that. Here is Mrs. Bush, who looks so elegant, and so pose, she fits the job perfectly. We are in Iraq to help save those people, without us, they are doomed.” I was in shock when that was her reasoning behind her vote for Bush. How can people think so ignorantly? I told her how here in the U.S. thousands of children and families can not even support themselves on minimum wage. How so many people are dieing from diseases here and there isn’t enough support or money to start advanced medical research such as stem cell, or other beneficial for the sick. Does she really think Bush gives a shit about the people in Iraq when he has just as many problems here?

How come when Clinton got caught having an affair with an intern he was going to impeached? No, really, is it that big of a deal that our President cheated on his wife? Yes, it was pretty bas that he lied to America on the television, and then later admitted to it. But is infidelity a legitimate reason for impeachment? Bush told us (U.S.) following the 9/11 attack, that we need to go to war with Iraq because they have weapons of mass destruction. After learning the hard way, Americans figured it out that Hussein never had weapons, making our whole reason for war a lie. The consequences of Clinton’s lie were that he ruined his marriage and family life, but it never affected the American people. Sure, we were hurt and sad that a man committed infidelity, but let’s face it; we are use to it. Marriages are the minority now in this country. However, the consequences for Bush’s “mistaken information” is far much worse. His lie does affect us, because many soldiers have died, inflation is low, and we have been “at war” with a country for several years now. We are now indebt by the billions, and nothing has resolved. Now we are entering Afghanistan, and Iran, and possibly Syria. I have no clue what to even imagine in the next years, but I know we are suffering greatly because of one man who told his people a lie. I think that is worth impeachment.

I have several friends who are Middle Eastern- Americans, and always mention how every time they are in public, people are terrible to them. A professor I once had, leaves to Lebanon every year to visit her family, and said every time she is in the airport she is somehow always the “random pick” at security. It obviously isn’t random, because that always occurs to another Lebanese friend’s of mine, Dad. It’s ridiculous how Bush made this hype about Middle Easterners, and now every one stereotypes them as terrorists. We live in such a corrupt and discriminatory country that where tapping Arab’s phones, computers, without their consent, is being performed on a daily basis.

The other day I had an argument with a fellow student pertaining to the Immigration law. “Dan” is a typical white boy who loves to watch Fox news and agrees with the Republican Party. His opinions about immigration left me furious. He told me that he feels that immigrations take all of “Americans” jobs, and we are the ones having to pay for it. Excuse me, but what are these “American” jobs that immigrations are taking? Mexicans are cleaning people’s homes, lawns, schools, and etc. Americans are too lazy to do anything. Here in Austin, I see bums everyday on the streets begging for money, and not one of them even attempt to get a job. It doesn’t take an educated person to flip burgers, or clean someone’s toilet. And yet, The Republican party feels too many of Mexicans are coming over here, and not paying their taxes. I’d like to see Bush fire his maid, and start cleaning his toilet seat.

George W. Bush is the biggest idiot ever. I can not stand watching him give speeches because he sounds so uneducated, and so phony. He is the Republican Party’s puppet; they control everything he says and does. I have noticed so many times his speeches are unorganized, and when asked questions by reporters, he gives them a pathetic response. I feel as an American, my President is required to tell his people the truth, and not try to tell us things we want to hear. A President of the United States is supposed to represent his country, and I don’t agree that he is the man fit for the job. He only is a fraction of what Americans have evolved to now.

1. I recently saw the film “Outfoxed” and the context in this picture was very disturbing. I always heard about Fox and how it is bias against democrats, but never did I imagine the corporation was so evil and inhumane. The news Fox Channel clearly bashes democrats on a daily basis. Whatever the circumstances are, Fox is always there to poke fun, or lighten a heated topic that benefits the Republican Party. Another big problem is that they are given what they are going to say on air ahead of time. Meaning, the stuff they are talking about is scripted! It is not equality because they never support the left side. When they interview Democrats they are often talked-over, and treated very poorly. Bill O’Reilly uses this tactic when interviewing fellow liberalists such as Michael Moore. In the film, they show a clip of Bill O’Reilly telling his guests “shut up” and oftentimes puts words in their mouths, leaving then unable to argue their case. I am disgusted with the Republican Party and how they are injustice.

I LOVE IT...i didnt get to see anything on the mid-tern elections, honestly, i didnt really want to worry about it so much, so i decided not involve myself. But i hear good things, "A libertarians fantasy come true" as some guy in my class put it. I do feel a little bad though, yes i confess...I DIDNT VOTE, i know, sorry. But you know what, I saw this thing on the Daily show with Jon Stewart , about voting, and how it matters...just a little bit. It cheered me up and made me realize that voting doesn't really matter. The PS3 came out, and someone got shot over it already. My roomate was going to buy two of the, he said he was sure that he could sell one for double the price, and literally get the second one for free. Smart guy, if he only used his wits in the class room, and not on video games. He told me people were standing ouutside in the cold two days before these things came out. I wish i had that kind of time. Also, for that nintendo wii thing. It sad that we are such consumer whores. I can see thankgivingdayafter. I am so glad that thanksgiving is a holiday, but not because it reminds me of the pilgrims that destroyed more humans that hitler did in the holocaust. But because its a time i spend with my whole family, who never goes shopping on that friday. And neither should YOU. I repeat DO NOT GO SHOPPING THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING, spend time with your family, go watch a movie, go to the park, better yet, turn the T.V. and bust out a board game, except for risk cause i will DOMINATE you. haha just kidding...but seriously.

I saw a glimpse of this on the news. Some hispanic dude on the senate or something is proposing to bring back the Draft, BULLSHIT i laughed to myself. Then, while checking my AOL mail, i found an article about it. Turns our this guy wants to bring back the draft to discourage the country from going to war. First of all, it sucks that some hispanic guy is trying to pull this off. And second, it sucks because its a good idea. Who are the only ones that join the army, all my friends from highschool who didn't get into college because they were either to stupid, or to poor. Well, at least, those are the people who I know from highschool. Dont get me wrong, I know alot of very intelligent people in the military, and i have enormous respect for them. Im talking about my friends from highschool that joined the militarty, which were mostly hispanic, and not rich. And they are all out there, getting shot at, because some guy wants to destroy what was once, the most advanced country in the middle east. It was almost like he was thinking..."hey, the middles east is looking good for once...thats not going to work out." I would love for this draft to go through, i know its probably not going to happen, but at least were trying. I think a draft is exactly what we need, I CALL FOR REFORM.

So, Borat the movie is going to be coming out, I'm excited, if your familiar with Da Ali G Show, you should be excited to. But, there is something Fishy about it, Fox is paying for it. Its costing them 18 million dollars to make, supposedly. That is so much money, can this be Borat selling out. I hope not. This guy has the potential to make this movie the funniest movie in a long time, but i fear i will be disappointed. I dont know, maybe its that Fox just gives me a bad feeling. I was walking from class today and i was wondering how long its going to take our country to realize that global warming is an issue. I was hearing NPR the other, and heard that siberian brown bears are barely even hibernating any more. Some bears have already been reported as non hibernating. But, its all cool, they said hibernating was a survival tool for bears, they dont really need it, as long as they sleep, and get their energy, the only reason they hibernated is because it was to cold, and that we should really be worried about the polar bear. It would suck for poalr bears to go extinct, as a i child, bears were my favorite animals, i had bear toys, bear movies, not disney movies with a bears, like actual bear documentaries...on VHS M*****r F*****r. I loved them all. Now Polar bears might die, and real bears are getting killed off, you see, because of the heat, bears are now more aggressive, and are venturing, into more public areas. The first bear seen ,in a certain area of yellowstone, for over 200 years was shot, and killed. Canada is doing something about it, a fence to keep bears and humans apart was built. But still, it sucks that were letting all this happen.

I saw "An Inconvenient Truth". If you dont know what that is, its Al Gores Movie, and you should watch it. It was so weird, because I love to see discovery channel, national geographic, and all those nature channels, and they barely even touch on this matter. I mean i have seen one episode, maybe two, on global warming, but it didnt seem as urgent as "An Inconvenient Truth" set it out to be. The way the media is in this country, it doesnt surprise me. Then I saw a nature special on PBS. It was beautiful, maybe it was because it was on HD, but the images displayed were "fantastic." Thats when it hit me that Global warming sucks ass. the documentary wasnt even about global warming, it was about Yellowstone Park. They had shots of old footage, there was this awesome image of a glacier right next to a mountain, two mountains right next to each other. One of ice, One of Stone, it was crazy. I had never seen a landscape like that before, i could never imagine that existed. that before. Then they went to the present images, and I was sad :( no more glacier.

Ok, so Republican Florida Representative has just resigned. He's got the feds on his back for sending explicit messages to teen pages. Here is my problem, what Foley did was wrong and disgusting, but whats worse, that he is into pedofelia, or that he is one our country's representatives. Why do we keep choosing people that shouldn't lead our country. Our leaders our supposed to be setting an example, so why are they all getting intto rehab. Patrick Kennedy's incident earlier this year, he was released after being caght under tthe influence while driving. Why are we so forgiving when it comes to the people who govern us. If its not our president cheating on the first lady, its dead bodies on Ted Kennedies conscience. Why is it that more and more of our countries leaders are corrupt. What is going on? This stuff is not supposed to be happeing anymore, we cannot be letting just any animal run our societies. We have to start finding better men with moral. The decisions our leaders make will reflect on us more then on them. We need to be aware of who is representing our country.
